Everyone knows how important it is to have a good post-run routine by stretching out muscles, rehydrating and refuelling in order to help with recovery. However, your pre-run routine is also very important to ensure that you can push yourself when you’re out there. Here are some tips to make sure you are ready for your next run.
Fuel up
Eat up, you need to have energy for your run. It’s important to eat something that slowly releases energy over the course of your run such as porridge or peanut butter on toast. It’s also important to eat an hour or two before you run to give your body time to digest the food.
Plan your route
It’s helpful to know where you’re going (in life and when running). By planning a route you will know how far you have to go and can adjust your pace accordingly. It also stops you from accidentally running too far and having to catch the bus back home.
Warm up
Get your blood pumping. You need to get a feel for your body before your run to work out if there are any muscles that are particularly tight. This way you can address any issues before you leave, rather than having to interrupt your run due to discomfort.
Look the part
Wearing clothes that are not only comfortable but also make you feel confident will have a positive impact on your run. Wearing breathable clothing is important to ensure you don’t overheat as well as having the right shoes and socks in order to protect your feet from impacts on the ground.
Our running socks here at STRIDIES were specially designed for maximum comfort when running. Seam3Toe technology, breathable fabric, Comfit Arch and reinforced heel and toe areas make them perfect for you to wear when you run. Not only that, but whenever we sell a pair of socks we donate a pair to homeless shelters across the UK, meaning that buying socks from us does not only help you set a new personal best, but it helps those in need too!
