Yorkshire Dales
The three peaks challenge in the Yorkshire Dales is a classic among the hiking community. It is made of three mountains, Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, forming a 24 mile loop. If you feel up to the challenge, the aim is to do this hike in under 12 hours.
Hadrian’s Wall Path
This walk follows the route of Hadrian’s wall, along the border between England and Scotland. It is 84 miles long, meaning you can either complete it over a number of days or choose a section of it to do in a day. This is a great walk for any history buff as it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has old ruins dotted along the entire route.
South West Coast Path
The South West Coast Path, also known as the Lizard Peninsula, is 630 miles long and runs from Minehead to Poole. This route will take you through picturesque fishing towns and secluded coves. This route is also great for nature lovers with large numbers of wildflowers and even the opportunity to see dolphins.
The Seven Sisters
This route in East Sussex is 14 miles long and gives you iconic views of the famous white chalk cliffs. This walk is famed for the rolling hilltops that give you an incredible view of the walk ahead of you. Not only that, but the walk takes you past Beachy Head, the tallest chalk cliff in Britain.
Ben Nevis
It's impossible to talk about walking routes in the UK without including Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in the country. Using the most popular route, the walk up and down is around 8.5 miles and will take you up a 1324m ascent. At the top you can be happy to know that there is nobody taller than you in the whole country.
